Ceres Highland Games |

Ceres Games are the oldest free games in Scotland, always held on the last Saturday of the month of June, every year (except for war) since the charter to hold the Games was given to the people of the village by Robert Bruce in 1314 in recognition of their support at the battle of Bannockburn. The battle was fought in order to preserve the right of the Scots to determine how they would be ruled. |

Only 30 mins from The Flaghouse (traffic permitting), the Open is one of the world's greatest sporting championships and to have it taking place in Carnoustie is a source of great pride. The championship is organised and run by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (The R & A). |

Weetabix Women's British Open |

The Weetabix Women's British Open Championship will break new ground in 2007 when it is played over the Old Course, St Andrews from 2-5 August. It will become the first championship for women professionals to be played at the Home of Golf although through the years the Old Course has hosted 27 Open Championships and numerous other professional tournaments. |

This historic street fair is said to be one of Scotland's oldest medieval markets. Traditional events including market stalls, food and drink stalls, concerts, dances and public functions make up most of the fair's program. |
